To the qualified electors of Ann Arbor Charter Township:
Please take notice that a federal, state and local General Election will be held in Ann Arbor Township on Tuesday, November 8, 2016. The last day to register in order to vote in this election is Tuesday, October 11, 2016. Voters may register by mail using a mail-in voter registration form or in person at a Secretary of State Branch Office, the Washtenaw County Clerk’s Office or the Ann Arbor Township Clerk’s Office.
Persons entitled to be registered voters in Ann Arbor Township must possess the following qualifications on or before November 8, 2016: 1) citizen of the United States; 2) not less than 18 years of age; 3) a resident of the State of Michigan and Ann Arbor Charter Township for not less than 30 days prior to the election (MCL 168.492). In addition, qualified electors must be registered to vote not less than 30 days prior to the election (MCL 168.497)
Registrations will be received at Ann Arbor Charter Township Hall located at 3792 Pontiac Trail, Ann Arbor, MI 48105, Mon – Fri from 8 am – 4:30 pm.
The November 8, 2016 Election is to elect candidates for the following offices:
President and Vice President of the United States, U.S. Senator, Representative in Congress, Representative to State Legislature, Members of the State Board of Education, Members of the University of Michigan Board of Regents, Members of the Michigan State University Board of Trustees, Wayne State University Governors, County Prosecuting Attorney, County Sheriff, County Clerk/Register of Deeds, County Treasurer, County Water Resources Commissioner, County Commissioner, and Township Supervisor, Township Treasurer, Township Clerk, and Township Trustees.
Voters will also elect the following non-partisan offices: Justices of the Supreme Court of Michigan, Court of Appeals 3rd District Judges, 22nd Circuit Court Judges, Judge of Probate Court, Judge of 14A District Court, Ann Arbor Public Schools Board Member, Washtenaw Community College Board of Trustees, and Ann Arbor District Library Board Members.
Voters will also vote on the following proposals: 1) County Proposal to Levy 0.50 mils to fund roads, bike lanes, streets and paths for a period of 4 years. 2) County Proposal to Levy 0.10 mils for funding Department of Veteran Affairs for a period of 8 years. 3) Regional Transit Authority of Southeast Michigan Proposal Authorizing the Regional Transit Authority of Southeast Michigan (RTA) to Levy an Assessment 1.20 Mills for 20 years.
