Diane O’Connell

Supervisor

Trustee Diane O’Connell was appointed to serve as Township Supervisor when Michael Moran retired. Diane had served as Township Trustee since 2018.  Before joining the Board, O’Connell served on the Township’s Planning Commission for 20 years, including nearly 10 as Chair.  She recently retired as Professor of Geography and Environmental Studies at Schoolcraft College, where she taught for 35 years and developed 10 new courses.  She is a member of several national, state and regional geography and environmental organizations, including the Executive Board of the Huron River Watershed Council.

O’Connell and her husband Jim Miller moved to the Township 25 years ago and raised 3 children.  She said, “We enjoy the Township’s many amenities, including the dedication to preserving natural features and the environment.  I look forward to serving our Township residents and taking on the many new challenges of this role!”
