Summer Taxes

Summer Taxes are sent by July 1 and are due on September 14. After the due date, a penalty of 1% will be applied to the amount due each month or portion of a month that the payment is overdue.

Postmarks are not honored for tax payments sent by mail.  Taxes also can be paid in person at Township Hall, or at any Bank of Ann Arbor office if accompanied by a copy of your tax bill.

Set up automatic payment, and chuck the checks!

Ann Arbor Charter Township is offering a convenient option to pay your property taxes. With this option, no more writing checks for your property taxes, and no more worry about your check arriving late in the mail!

You will get your tax bills as before. Then we debit your savings or checking account the amount owed on the due dates of Sept. 14 for summer taxes and Feb. 14 for winter taxes. If the due date falls on a weekend or holiday, the balance due is debited on the next business day.  Your completion of the application allows the Township access to your funds for the sole purpose of paying your property taxes.  This a routine banking process, and most consider it much safer than sending checks.

Please print, complete mail this application along with a voided check to Township Hall at 3792 Pontiac Trail, Ann Arbor, MI 48105, Attention Treasurer.  It also can be put into the drop box outside our front door.  If you have sent in a similar form for paying your utility bills, thank you – and please know that we need a separate application for your property tax payments.  Email Township Treasurer Carlene Colvin-Garcia at treasurer@aatwp.org with any questions.

Winter Taxes

Winter Taxes are sent by December 1 and are due on February 14. A 1% penalty will be applied if the bill is paid between February 15 & February 28. All taxes not paid by February 28 are turned over as delinquent to the County Treasurer and subject to additional penalties and interest.

Postmarks are not honored for tax payments sent by mail.  Taxes also can be paid in person at Township Hall, or at any Bank of Ann Arbor office if accompanied by a copy of your tax bill.
