NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING – BLUEBERRY LANE SPECIAL ASSESSMENT DISTRICT

TO: RESIDENTS AND PROPERTY OWNERS OF ANN ARBOR CHARTER TOWNSHIP AND ANY OTHER INTERESTED PERSONS:

The Township Board established the Blueberry Lane Special Assessment District (“District”) for the costs of public roadway improvements as described on the plans on file with the Township. The Blueberry Lane Special Assessment District includes the properties described on the attached list located on Blueberry Lane, Englave Drive and Danbury Lane.

The Supervisor prepared the Roll for the purpose of assessing a portion of the costs of construction shown on the plans on file with the Township Clerk.  The estimate of costs to be proportionately paid by the property owners within the District is 90% ($231,000.00), such total to be divided and assessed equally among each lot in the district. The Blueberry Lane Special Assessment District Roll has been reported to the Township Board and filed with the Township Clerk for public examination.

The Plans, Estimate of Costs, and proposed Blueberry Lane Special Assessment District Roll may be examined at the office of the Township Clerk during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, from the date of this notice until the public hearing, and may also be examined at the hearing.

A public hearing on the Blueberry Lane Special Assessment District Roll will be held on July 15, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. at the Ann Arbor Charter Township Hall, 3792 Pontiac Trail, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48105.  To participate online, register here.

At the hearing, the Township Board will consider any written objections and comments filed with the Board at or before the hearing and any objections or comments raised at the hearing.  After the hearing, the Township Board may confirm the special assessment roll as reported by the Supervisor or as amended or corrected by the Township Board; may refer the assessment roll back to the Supervisor for revision; or may annul it and direct a new roll to be made.  If the special assessment roll is confirmed, all assessments on that assessment roll shall be final and conclusive unless an action contesting an assessment is filed in a court of competent jurisdiction within 30 days after the date of confirmation. Written protest at or before the public hearing is required in order to appeal from a decision of the Township Board.

All interested persons are invited to be present at the hearing, in person or by representative, and to submit comments about the proposal.

The Township will provide necessary reasonable auxiliary aids and services to individuals with disabilities upon four (4) days’ notice to the Township Clerk at 3792 Pontiac Trail, Ann Arbor, MI 48105 or 734-663-3418 or clerk@aatwp.org.
