The Ann Arbor Charter Township Planning Commission will a hold public hearing at their meeting on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 7:30 pm at Township Hall, 3792 Pontiac Trail, Ann Arbor, MI 48105 and via video conference call to receive and consider public input on proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance Sec. 74-592 (a) Mineral Mining. The amendments update standards of determination for conditional use permits for mineral mining such as requiring submission of hydrogeological study. The proposed amendments add section 74-592 (a) (18) to only allow dewatering when it can be shown to have no adverse impact on other properties, and to ban offsite discharge of process water.
