Board of Review

Overview

The Board of Review meets annually in March to hear property tax appeals at the local level. The Ann Arbor Charter Township Board of Review is comprised of the Township Supervisor, Assessor, and taxpayers in the township. The Board of Review and Assessing staff work with property owners and, based on the evidence presented, make determinations on each of the tax appeal cases, which can be further appealed to the Michigan Tax Tribunal.

By appointment only:

  • Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 9 am – Organizational Meeting
  • Tuesday, March 11, 2025 9:00 am – 12 pm & 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm – Hearings by Appointment
  • Thursday, March 13, 2025 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm & 6 pm – 9 pm – Hearings by Appointment
  • July Board of Review – TBD
  • December Board of Review – TBD

All persons protesting their assessment must complete petitions prior to appearing before the Board of Review. A personal appearance is not required. Written protests to the Board of Review must be received by mail or delivered in person to the Assessing Office the last meeting date.

The Board of Review will be held in the Board of Trustees Meeting Room of Ann Arbor Township Hall, 3792 Pontiac Trail, Ann Arbor, MI 48105.

Please come prepared as a ten (10) minute time limit before the Board of Review will be strictly adhered to.

Petitions may be received in writing or by mail. All materials need to be submitted to the Assessor on or before, the deadline by 4:30 pm.
