The Ann Arbor Township Zoning Board of Appeals will hold two public hearings on Tuesday August 20, 2024 at 4:00 pm at Township Hall, 3792 Pontiac Trail, Ann Arbor, MI 48105 and also via video conference call to receive public input to consider the following matters:

  • ZBA-2-2024: At 75 Laurin Drive, Ann Arbor, MI 48105, zoned R-2, Single-Family Suburban Residential(Parcel numbers I -09-26-481-009 and I -09-35-100-001), the applicant is seeking the following variances to install three small-scale solar arrays on their property:
    1. A variance from Section 74-618, Standards for Ground Mounted Small-Scale SES, to allow installation of solar panels within a natural feature setback.
    2. A variance from Section 74-684, Steep Slope Protection, to not revegetate the area with native vegetation of similar caliper on a 1:1 basis.
  • ZBA-3-2024:  The variance request involves three parcels, all zoned R-2 Single-Family Suburban Residential, including 3800 Warren Rd. Ann Arbor Township, Michigan, 48105; an abutting parcel directly to the southeast; and a parcel on Pontiac Trail that abuts the other parcels at the rear (Parcel numbers I-09-09-100-012, I-09-09-100-032, and I-09-09-100-021).  The applicant is seeking a variance from the requirement that any new parcel shall have frontage on a public street or on a private street in Sec. 74-2, Definitions “lot,” of the Zoning Ordinance.  They are proposing to create one new lot from the southern end of two existing lots, and two of the resulting lots won’t have road frontage as required.
