Michael Moran was first involved in Ann Arbor Township governance when he was appointed to the Planning Commission in 1992.  He was subsequently elected Trustee in 1996, having run on a platform advocating increased protection of our natural resources and increased citizen involvement.  He served as Trustee until he became Township Supervisor in 2002. In June 2020 Michael again stepped into the Trustee role.

Prior to his involvement in Township governance, Michael was a lawyer serving in several capacities, including law clerk to US Supreme Court Justice William Brennan, Assistant State Appellate Defender, instructor of law at University of Michigan Law School and as a private attorney in a multi-state law practice. He is married to Shary Brown, retired Director of the Michigan Guild of Artists and Artisans and the Ann Arbor Street Art Fair.
